Anna Dello Russo + H&M = Accessory GOLD

I was just musing yesterday about how amazing accessories are, and how much i love them, and BAM H&M hit us with the news that they have collaborated with ADR on an accessory collection to be launched in October.

In case you live under a rock and don't know who ADR is :), Anna Dello Russo is the editor-at-large and creative consultant of Vogue Japan; and in my opinion the ultimate IDGAF fashionista. ADR wears what she wants, how she wants and when she wants; a 'no respecter' of trends and an extremely stylish HBIC.

Like many out there when i first heard of this collaboration, i expected extra crazy and over the top items. Instead the sneak peak of the upcoming collection showcases a combination of classy and bold statement pieces that will compliment any wardrobe.

As stated on twitter, i have my eyes firmly on the gold clutch with the turquoise stones..... i will gladly queue up and claw my way through the store for this clutch :), only snag is we have to wait till October grrrrrrrrrr

My BAG  *hearts & sparks*

I really have to hand it to H&M, they have done extremely well when it comes to choosing designers to collaborate with and coming up with designs that their customer base can actually wear and will love.

TresChic Likes : 87Couture

I am in major lust mode for 87couture pieces right now and thought i might as well blog about it.

87Couture is the brainchild of Adaobi Okoli, a 25 year old London college of Fashion alumni and Lagos based designer. I am really excited about her very first collection, because she combines everything that is relevant in fashion right now and puts her own spin on it to produce a fabulous summer collection that should be a part of every fashionista's wardrobe.

I love the prints, the cuts, colours but most importantly the fact that her designs are wearable. For me as a consumer, i don't just want to look at clothes, think they are nice and move on; i want to look at clothes, think they are nice and ENVISION myself in them!!!! and that my friends is what endears me to 87Couture :)

Adaobi Okoli: My debut collection is called 'made in the 80's' and is an ode to the era I was born in,which empowered women to express their style  in the most avant garde and colorfully obnoxious manner, and is one that continues to influence fashion till date. 80's bold prints and a mismatch of colors are at the core of many trends prevailing in modern fashion.

Being of African descent, I am naturally drawn to colors, prints, textures and fabric. My culture is my muse, drawing inspiration from the ancient Benin bronze sculptures, the Igbo feathered "chief staffs" and our famous Ankara print, meshed together with my love of the 80's births a unique, playful and innovative approach to fashion.

The 60's is another era I've drawn from when creating my dresses. Old style icon influences like coco chanel and aubrey hepburn are also evident in my work, as I learnt from them, the importance of dressing a woman elegantly.

Thus, my love for vintage fashion, the loud freedom of expression of the 80's and my cultural heritage has led to my brand, 87 couture, for all women who want to feel beautiful.

I didn't want to go down the route of just putting up professional pictures, i added 'normal' everyday snaps culled from her facebook page in addition to some professional snaps.

PS: I love the fact that Adaobi is a major ambassador of her brand, she wears 87couture and she wears it well.

Enjoy & be sure to let me know what you think :)

Little Treats

I decided to pop into my local outlet village after work today. The plan was to be disciplined and only get what i needed, i.e Skincare products, however on the way, i spotted H&M still open which is usually not the case in little old Swindon after 4:30pm. So i popped in for a quick browse and it was downhill from there

Snake print top H&M - love the leather detailing around the neck, pocket and wrist. I can't get enough of animal prints right now

NEXT- High waisted sheer pleated maxi

I've had my eye on this bad boy for a little while, was kind of holding out on it, till i got there and it had gone down by 70%, there was obviously no way i was leaving without it

H&M snood - £2, two freaking pounds, i got two lol

I also bought this Mid Grey Snake skin layered blouse from Oasis yesterday, i think it was the frill layering around the shoulder that sealed the deal for me :)

The Bag & I

Like every girl out there i LOVE bags and i collect them. I say collect because despite having lots of bags, i tend to gravitate towards carrying only a select few on a regular basis. I am the type of person that could carry one bag for two months straight, which is usually driven by it being a new purchase. Also i tend to buy really big bags for everyday use and somehow my entire life seems to find its way in there, so changing bags on regular basis is more of a hassle.

The Zara Shopper Basket below is my bag of choice right now, i absolutely love love love this bag!!!! it looks great, doesn't break the bank but most importantly it has the SIZE FACTOR. When it comes to bags, my motto is BIG BIG BIG.

Sadly there are two flaws applicable to owning this bag, see mini essay below (my opinion)

  1. Every Tom, Dick, Harry & their sister's friend's sister has this bag. I have never really been someone who cares about other people having what i have, in actual fact, i take pleasure in being able to point people in the right direction when it comes to clothes, bags blah blah. However, i had a week off work and literally every corner i turned in London, there was at least five girls carrying this bag :(
  2. No Zip - Zara really meant it when they named this bag a basket, it is an open basket and i feel slightly exposed when i go to densely populated areas such as Oxford street or shopping centres. I feel like anyone can easily put their hands into my bag and snatch my wallet or something without me noticing grrrrrr
All that being said, i still LOVE this bag and will continue to rock it alongside my other Zaralites

Thought i would also include a few of my other trusty everyday bags
